UrbanLink partners with Signature Aviation to expand electric air mobility in Florida
UrbanLink Air Mobility, a South Florida-based advanced air and maritime mobility operator, has partnered with Signature Aviation, the world’s largest network of private aviation terminals, to explore the development of all-electric air operations across Florida.
The partnership follows a letter of intent signed by both companies, aiming to research scalable and safe expansion for UrbanLink’s future fleet of BETA Technologies electric conventional takeoff and landing (eCTOL) aircraft.
The collaboration will leverage Signature’s extensive network of private terminals across the state to support the operational and maintenance needs of UrbanLink’s electric aircraft. This approach allows UrbanLink to utilise existing infrastructure while the build-out of dedicated vertiports for electric air mobility progresses.
The partnership will also focus on route planning, charging infrastructure, and operational readiness to ensure smooth integration of electric flight operations.
UrbanLink, a subsidiary of URBYN Mobility, is positioning itself as an independent operator of fully electric fleets for advanced air mobility and maritime platforms. Its future operations will include BETA Technologies Alia aircraft, REGENT Seagliders, Artemis Technologies Sea Crafts, and Traverse Aero’s Orca unmanned drones. CEO Ed Wegel highlighted that leveraging Signature Aviation terminals accelerates access to infrastructure and supports a seamless transition to zero-emission air mobility in South Florida.
Signature Aviation brings a global footprint with over 200 private aviation terminals in 27 countries. The company’s infrastructure, including carbon-neutral office and hangar space, will facilitate the testing and eventual scaling of electric air operations. Signature has already been exploring charging solutions in collaboration with BETA Technologies, ensuring terminals are ready for the next generation of sustainable aircraft.
The partnership aims to establish operational bases, develop charging infrastructure, and advance route planning across Florida.
